How often should you deep clean a Colorado Springs home?

4 min read

Across the Colorado Springs homes we clean, two deep cleans a year with recurring upkeep in between is what works in practice. That is our own scheduling experience rather than an industry standard: the right interval depends on pets, forced-air heat, nearby construction and how much of the year your windows are open.

What we actually see between visits

This part is firsthand observation from our own visits, not a study. The surfaces that come back first in the homes we clean are window sills and tracks, supply and return vent covers, and the top edge of baseboards. Sealed rooms nobody uses are usually no better than the rooms in daily use.

Colorado Springs sits at roughly 6,035 feet in a semi-arid climate, and the practical effect we notice is that dust here stays loose and powdery rather than clumping. That matters for method more than for frequency: we lift it dry first, because a damp cloth on the first pass smears it.

Homes near active construction, homes with forced-air heat running all winter, and homes with two or more shedding pets are the ones where we flag surfaces sooner. If you want a number to start from, book a deep clean, then look at your own sills and vents at six weeks and at twelve, and set the interval from what you find.

What a deep clean covers that upkeep does not

A deep clean is measured in the places a recurring visit never reaches: baseboards, door frames, switch plates, supply and return vents, grout lines, cabinet faces and hardware, light fixtures, and the floor edges a vacuum head skips.

We hand-detail those areas rather than spray-and-wipe them, which is why a deep clean on a 2,000 square foot home runs several hours longer than a recurring visit on the same house.

A simple schedule that works

The schedule most of our clients settle on: deep clean in early spring after the windy season, again in late fall before the holidays, with recurring visits on a biweekly rhythm in between. Households with pets, forced-air heat or an active remodel often move to three a year again, that is what we see on our own schedule rather than a published rule.
